    GB-Adding Information FAQ

  1. How do I import my family tree from another genealogical program?

You can import your family tree into Genealogy Browser in GEDCOM format. To import a GEDCOM, simply select ''Import GEDCOM File to View'' on the File Menu or select the third option on the Organize Anchors Page. If you upload the same GEDCOM more than once, you may find some hints and conflicts from your own information. This is because the auto-merger did not have enough information to merge the records.

  11. How do I keep track of my sources?

Citations are specific references for information that you have found on an individual during your research. Citations are very important for establishing the credibility of information, but they can also help others in their research. The information you save in the citations becomes part of OneGreatFamily and is available to others to help with the collaborative effort.

When you click on the citation button, you are presented with the citation window containing listings for Individual Sources, Birth Sources, Death Sources, Christening Sources, and Burial Sources. These five categories help to group citations for quick access.
